I started my career in the UN with postings in Egypt, Costa Rica and Honduras. From 1996 to 2002 I worked in the Netherlands at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. In 2002, I joined the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs with postings in Tanzania, Bangladesh and the occupied Palestinian Territories. In addition, I served at the Department for Sustainable Economic Development in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague.
